ABOUT THE FRIEND

The Friend is the author of two books of poetry, The Late Parade (2013) and George Washington (2016), both published by W. W. Norton’s historic Liveright imprint. They are also the author of Poems for Silence, a limited-edition chapbook of new poems — their first release under their chosen name. They teach poetry and multimedia workshops at Rutgers University. Their most recent poem, “People Without Names,” was published in Eileen Myles’ Pathetic Literature anthology by Grove Press in 2023.
